COURT and other LEGAL COSTS

Since 1 July 2006 the Attorney Fees Act recommends agreements concerning the
amounts of fees for advice and opinion, which should be in writing for evidence and
avoidance of disputes between client and attorney. Fees for representation before
the courts and correspondence with the other side should be in accordance with legal
provisions, unless otherwise agreed. Quota litis agreements are illegal. If no agreement
is made, the lawyer receives in court proceedings fees are determined in accordance
with the provisions of the cited act consumers are protected against fees. The attorney
is barred to charge for an initial interview more than 190 € and for an extensive advice
not more than 250 € plus value added tax. Representing the client vis a vis the adversary,
or public authorities or public agencies or law courts the Attorney Fees Act does apply.
