The Law Office
The law office was
established as independent law firm
in 1972. It is based in Germany
but working worldwide either directly or in close cooperation with
lawyers in
other countries. Active partners are Peter H. Kort, Matthias W.
Husemann and
Bettina Piepenbrink. They are members of the Duesseldorf Chamber of
Lawyers. Working
languages of the firm are english, french, german, dutch and russian.
The
office specializes in commercial law and related fields of law,
especially
transportation law and intellectual property law. National and
international
trademark and design laws constitute an important part of the
offices’
activities including care of smaller and greater trademark and design
portfolios. We specialise in all aspects of Trademark Law and
related fields. We help to protect our clients intellectual property
rights nationally and internationally.
Peter H. Kort studied law at the Universities of Hamburg and Berlin, french law in Paris and comparative law in Strasbourg. Part of his training were traineeships with the German Shipowners Association in Hamburg and a french Avoué in Paris. The studies of comparative law in Strasbourg were finished with the Diplôme d´ Études Supérieures de Droit Comparé (D.E.S.). All three attorneys are admitted to practice before any german District Court , High Court and Court of Appeals, Administrative Court, Federal Patent Court in Germany, the Office of Harmonisation of the Internal Market in Alicante, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva .
